The University of Tennessee Norris House

The University of Tennessee (UT) Norris House is a 21st-century take on the original Norris, TN homes built as part of the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Norris Dam Project in 1933. This sustainable home and landscape designed by UT students and faculty became one of the first in Tennessee to earn LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The 1,006 sq. ft. home includes five rooms with reclaimed hardwood floors, a rainwater collection system, an extensive native landscape, efficient heating and cooling equipment, and environmentally friendly materials.
